My Electronic Phase

Holy shit you’re gonna get a LOT content this blog! A video, AND four new songs, AND my insightful commentary. WIN!

Anyways, not many of you know this, but I went through an electronic phase. Basically I got my hands on fruity loops and I just started making stuff. But I never had a good mic so most of these are just instrumental electronic tracks (except the last one)

The first track that I actually succeeded in making sound good was called Painting Bells in Amsterdam. It was actually the first electronic song I did and it kind of sounds like the title.

I also tried making an acoustic song into an electronic song. Kind of came out cute. It’s called Legosaurus (get it… like stegosaurus) Granted there are actually vocals to this song, so the music is kind of repetitive, but I never got around to recording the vocals well.

Then I got a little poppier with a song called Gay in the 50s which I also kind of think sounds like the title. This isn’t actually the final version. I lost a lot of my project files and thus lost a lot of songs, so I only have an early version of this. Still worth listening I think.

Finally, my efforts culminated in me attempting to bring together my acoustic music with my electronic stuff. I actually think it came together rather well, and I like this song a lot. I basically just played the track over my speakers and played guitar/ sang to it to record it. Really lo-fi. I lost the project file to this song so this is all I have left. The songs called Rufio and the Boys. I’ve been trying to re make the project file but it doesn’t quite sound the same. So this may be as far as this song gets.

And FINALLY here is the new video. Its a cover of When Stars Go Blue by Ryan Adams. There’s a link to a free MP3 of the track at the actual youtube page (double click the video)

Remind me to check for that fourth one later. I might have it on my laptop without the guitar playing…
